PCS - Productive, Efficient Computing for Small Business

About Us .....the shrunk/wrapped version...
 Productive Computer Systems (PCS)
OlegProductive Computer Systems (aka PCS) was started in 1987, as a multimedia development & production company by Oleg Moskalensky. At that time Amiga was the most outstanding computer for doing multimedia (and just about anything else) and PCS developed software that utilized a small Amiga computer to run content, in real time, for a Cable TV channel, that beamed across 12,000 homes right around the area of this waterfall. Snoqualmie Falls

The channel showed information & ads, with photos, animations and had a real-time background telecommunications interface to handle updates and build new screens based on those in the background, while multitasking with foreground showing the content. Then the system was modified to run in a stand-alone environment and it was powering TVs running in gyms, bagel shops and real estate offices. Nowadays it doesn't sound like much, but back in 1987 - we were it.

In 1981 Oleg joined Vacation Internationale, a pioneer in the timeshare industry, for a 'short' stint in the corporate world. The stint wound up lasting 17 years, involving just about anything and everything one does in Information Technology.

1995 was the year when PCS abandoned its multimedia roots and the concentration turned to the design & development of customized systems for businesses. In 1998 PCS was hired to find a software package for a new fractional ownership resort in Sun Valley, Idaho, Les Saisons. The search yielded unacceptable results, in terms of functionality and cost, and PCS was then responsible for designing and developing such system. FORS (Fractional Ownership & Reservation System) was developed and has been running there since 2000, and later at another fractional resort in McCall, Idaho, Hearthstone.

Web-based system development was being adopted more and more and PCS concentrated on providing consulting & development services to a wide variety of businesses in Washington State and Idaho.

As side projects - PCS developed Takeout Online, a web-based takeout ordering service for the restaurant industry and has been successfully operating it since 2001. Record Sage was another hosted service, written to assist individuals & companies to track what's important to them.

In 2009 PCS launched a new initiative, called SPEC (strictly productive & efficient computing) for small businesses. The concept behind it is to provide small businesses with technological know how, essentially provide them with an IT department of their own, without physically having one (or paying for one). You can follow SPEC via SPECifiable blog and other resources mentioned in the blog.

There's another service from PCS that's coming out soon and it has a great potential, although we can't say more at this time... but soon we'll offer it to the world!
